    sammendrag:
BACKGROUND Katapult Group has the ambition to raise 10 BNOK in co-investments for impact startups from investors in our network. To be successful we need to prove that the investments so far have resulted in high success rates and that we are likely to reach at least the same levels of success in the future. We currently have the advantage that we run our own startup accelerators: Katapult Accelerator, Katapult Food, and Katapult Ocean. All are subsidiaries of Katapult Group and together we own a database with insights on 10.000+ impact startups worldwide. Our goal is to recruit the highest potential startups and to increase investment in impact startups. CURRENT NEEDS At the moment, there are limited intelligent solutions that help make sense of data and insights and many that do exist focus on financial data - something many early-stage startups lack. We therefore risk losing out on potential and greater success. Investing in startups is globally understood to be risky and not an optimal asset management strategy. However, there are plenty of startups that have tremendous potential, but they may lose out on funding and success due to this bias and lack of insight, trust, and understanding of startup investing. While the market for green investments is growing, many of the wealthiest individuals, companies, and organizations are still hesitant to invest in startups in general, especially impact startups. We want impact to be a success criterion when evaluating potential success. OUR SOLUTION The AI-START project will create an AI algorithm in a dashboard that can predict the future success of a startup where little to no financial data is available. This tool will be targeted at venture capitalists, other accelerators, and business angels with the hope of increasing the investment quality, lowering barriers to startup investments, amping trust in early-stage startups, and boosting impact startups investments that target important social/environmental concerns.
