Utslippsfri transport vurderes også å inngå. I første omgang starter EFU med pilotprosjekter med ambisjon om utslippsfrie byggeplasser: garderobebygg på Varden og/eller Arna Stadion, samt Midtbygda sykehjem. Dette er et forsknings og utviklingsprosjekt (FoU) i samarbeid med BKK AS, og det er stort fokus på at byggherre skal dra lærdom av alle aspekter og utfordringer gjennom hele prosjektperioden. FoU vil innebære utforskning av prosess og teknologi, samt datainnsamling. Pilotprosjektene skal resultere i en metodikk, med formål å være et verktøy i prosjekter i Etat for Utbygging, med stegvis implementering av utslippsfri byggeplass, fra offentlig anskaffelse, prosjektering til utførelse. Denne RFI gjelder for aktører i bygge-, anlegg- og eiendomsbransjen (BAE) og aktører for energiforsyning.
