Fylkesbiblioteket og flere skole- og folkebibliotek i fylket har gamle avtaler for drift av biblioteksystem og det er lenge siden løsningene har vært ute på anbud. I Viken er det nå fem ulike biblioteksystemer. Systemet de fleste videregående skolene og flere folkebibliotek benytter er i ferd med å fases ut og disse må skifte biblioteksystem. Vi ønsker et skybassert biblioteksystem som raskt kan ta opp i seg endringer, enten basert på brukernes behov eller de ansattes arbeidshverdag, og et system de kan bruke som grunnlag for videre tjenesteutvikling. Vi ønsker et biblioteksystem som samler, presenterer og gir tilgang til ulike fysiske og digitale tjenester på en mer brukervennlig måte. Vi har behov for et biblioteksystem som har de nødvendige lokale og nasjonale integrasjoner for å styrke biblioteksamarbeidet på lokalt, regionalt og nasjonalt plan. Anskaffelsens verdi over en 6 års periode er estimert til 20 - 30 millioner kroner eks. mva.
