  Tp har behov for å erstatte flere av dagens p-automater. Bakgrunn for dette er å imøtegå krav fra Eurocard, Mastercard og Visa , EMV, om kontaktløs kortlesing, såkalt tæpping, på våre parkeringsautomater. Tp har via anskaffelser to leverandører av ca 190 parkeringsautomater. I 2018 orienterte en av leverandørene Tp om at ca. 60 automater av deres merke, som ble levert for en del år tilbake, ikke lenger ville supporteres med reservedeler eller bli oppgradert for kontaktløs betaling. Dette medfører derfor en fjerning av 60 automater, som vi ønsker å erstatte med 20 - 40 nye automater med tæpping. Tp ønsker å ha en ensartet automatpark med ett baksystem og styringssystem blant annet for å imøtekomme karenstid ved gratis parkering, brukervennlighet etc. Erfaringen Tp sitter inne med tilsier høye kostnadsdrivende operasjonelle utfordringer ved å drifte flere parallelle systemer, noe Tp ikke ønsker. Ved å ha ikke en ensartet automatpark, tvinges Tp til å bytte ut hele automatparken, og ikke bare de 20 - 40 automatene som må byttes ut. Leverandøren har enerett på kildekode. Det gis ikke tilgang til kildekoder/ det språk som muliggjør kommunikasjon med andre system av Autodata AS, som er den eksisterende leverandøren vi ønsker å beholde.
