- Vestre Gausdal kommune kjøpte Øvre Forseth i 1909 for kr. 30 000,- Kommunen satte garden istand til pleiehjem. To hus ble flyttet til garden. I 1950 solgte kommunen Øvre Forseth, da nytt pleiehjem ble bygd. Senere kjøpte kommunen en del av garden til tomteareal.
