The University plans to enter into a contract with Malvern Panalytical B.V. for the procurement, installation, training and warranty of the XRD system, with an estimated net cost of NOK 738,000. The characteristics that must be covered by the XRD system are described in the annex. We are not aware that other suppliers fulfil these requirements. If there are other suppliers who satisfy these requirements, we would like feedback on this as soon as possible. Class 72 have now reached half of the programmed life and to keep a modern standard and comfort a midlife upgrade is necessary. The estimated date for the announced competition is late September 2017. The deadline for submitting applications for participation will be approx. November 2017. Expected award of contract is February 2018. The first train set shall be ready for use in late 2018.
