The design and software are proprietary to ABB/Hitachi, and the vehicle control system can only be modified by Stadler. Any upgrade must ensure full compatibility with existing systems and safety requirements.\n\nNorske tog is considering a fleet-wide upgrade from PEC2 to a newer platform (e.g., PEC4) to ensure long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness.
