Description

The purpose of this procurement is to establish a contract with a supplier of plagiarism detection system. Most Norwegian universities and university colleges are currently using a plagiarism detection system procured by Sikt. The most important functionality of such a system is to recognize text similarity in order to expose plagiarism. It is important that the solution is continuously developed to account for new methods of cheating, for example using AI-generated texts. We also need the system to provide warnings if submissions raise suspicion in other ways: If there are characteristics in the submission that suggest an attempt to avoid plagiarism detection, such as unreadable text, use of mixed alphabets, unusually long words or similar. The solution must support various file types and formats. It must be easy to upload texts for both checks and as source materials. It should be possible to add databases as source materials, and the access to this source material must be restricted. It should be possible to specify whether other clients should have full, partial, or no access to shared source materials. The system must be user-friendly and intuitive. It should be easy to integrate with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and solutions for digital examinations, but it also needs to work as a stand-alone solution. Having good access control solutions for the end users of the system is important. Also, the system owner must have access to user administration and insight into the use of the system at the institution level.
