Kjøpet skal benyttes for karbon- og nitrogen isotop analyser. Kollagen fra moderne og arkeologisk bein og tann er prøvemateriale. Presisjonsnivå må være minst 0,5‰ for nitrogen og enda lavere for karbon. Ustyret må kunne håndtere 100 til 200 prøver i hver sekvensering levert fra en automatisert prøvebeholder
