After about 16 years in service, the first MX3000 metro trains are approaching their 1,920,000 km (1920’) services. Sporveien AS is now in the initial planning phase for this service interval. This service interval will require new competence, spare parts, instructions, and investments to the workshop. The 1920’ service is very similar to the 960’ service. What separates 1920’ from 960’ is activities on primary springs w/emergency spring, gearboxes with axles, and surface treatment. To perform this 1920’ service, Sporveien AS will have to procure a machine for dismantling and remounting of wheels, hubs, and bearings on the axles. The scope include design, delivery, installation, training, documentation, etc.
