Description
At present, local train lines are serviced by several different types of trainsets, whereas the oldest sets are found on the local lines in Eastern Norway. They provide good passenger capacity but are now outdated. At the same time, traffic growth in recent years has outstripped the forecasts made in the Norwegian Railway Directorate’s 2015 perspective report. Against this background, NT plans to issue a call for tenders for new suburban commuter trains in early 2020. With this request for information, Norske tog AS seeks to collect the supplier market´s view on the requirement specifications for the new generation of suburban commuter trains.
